EGYPTOLOGICAL COLLECTIONS IN Tasmania
- John Elliott Classics Museum
Founded by Professor John Elliot in 1954, the Classics Museum houses a collection of some 750 antiquities including artefacts from Egypt, Mesopotamia, Greece, Etruria and Rome.The main strengths of the collection are 100 Greek vases, many of them fine specimens with painted decoration, and about 500 ancient coins.
